The Eyes!!

Poor Caleb has been screaming and shaking with terror at night. He's been yelling EYES, EYES. We couldn't figure it out until I watched him look at the picture of a tree frog I had hanging on the wall near his bed

After I took them down he kept saying all gone, eyes all gone.

Black Friday

After shopping all morning with Eric's mom and brother the kids and I went with them to constitution plaza in Hartford to see the huge Christmas tree. It was a lot of fun. It is a special place for me. When Eric and I started dating he took me to see the lights it was my favorite date. The lights were beautiful it was flurrying and there was not another person there.

Thanksgiving

I was exhausted but I really enjoyed the day. Eric's family came over around noon and our last guests left around 10:00 pm. The turkey only 17lbs (last year was 28lbs) was delicious and after years of trying to make turnips as good as my uncle Al's I finally DID IT(only because he let me in on his secret when I was in Florida) !! After dinner the kids wrestled with Poppy, then we all went to the family room to look at the slides that poppy brought which was the high light of the day.

Centerpiece

Using an idea from the freind magazine we made a centerpiece for our thanksgiving table.

Ethan wrote the things we are thankful for on the turkey's tail feathers.

Out of Commission

I think almost everyone who reads my blog knows that I had a miscarriage. I knew for about 10 days before it happened. I hemorrhaged pretty badly and had to be hospitalized. I've been out of commission and I just want to thank you all for the meals and emotional support. I am truly grateful to be surrounded by a great family and friends. While I was unable to take care of the kids my mom (who lives next door) would come over and help me get the kids to bed. It's been great she has never really bonded with Caleb until this week. He would wake up looking for Grammy.

Thanks Mom!

Big Boy Bed!

Caleb spent his first night in a big boy bedand he LOVED it!

Crafty

I saw these for sale in a magazine and decided to try and make them.

Hummus

Every day I feel like I learn something new. Today I learned that Caleb loves artichoke and spinach hummus. I already new that he likes original and red pepper but he loves the artichoke and spinach the best. If Ethan and I tried to have any he would SCREAM.

So today I have learned to give Caleb his own dish so the rest of us can enjoy too!

Still no milk

I am usually so careful about reading labels before I give Caleb anything new. Today I gave him some french onion sun chips while I was making lunch. He came over to me saying ouch! ouch! so I looked at him and ran for the benedryl. Later I read the label ingredients: Whey protein(milk), dry buttermilk, whey(milk), sour cream, soy protein (he's also alleric to soy), cultured whey, mozzarella cheese, skim milk, and cheese cultures.
Oops!!!!

He is fine now but I do feel like the worst mother in the world!

Loads of Fun

I don't know if all kids do this but when ever I do laundry my kids have to play in the baskets.

Halloween Favorite

At the church trunk-or-treat there were a lot of great costumes but these two are my favorite. I think it's because I remember when everyone had a mullet and I think I wore the same outfit Kayla has on. Only I had bigger hair!
